Facelift

I had a facelift in 2006?

Can anyone of you who has had this procedure, tell me how long it is before the site of the incision will stop being so tender?
Also, the scar is still red and very noticeable.

My doctor used a few shots of a laser to flatten the scars, but they have not flattened much, if at all.

I was told by my doctor’s nurse that there are stitches deep under my skin and this is why I have the tenderness.

Help!

BTW, I have another procedure I am going to ask a question about..please look for that one if you happen to see (and answer) this one.

Thanks!

  1. The tenderness should have gone away. The longest I have heard of it persisting is 6 months. Do you smoke? If so, your healing can be very very slow, especially in areas of thin skin. Ask your doctor about the nerves in that area and what they can do to check for the reasons for your issues. They may have hit areas of nerves that cause irritation more easily.

  2. i would think that if its been almost 2 years it shouldn’t be hurting at all. I would go back to the doctor and see what is up.

  3. Go back to the doctor… You shouldn’t be hurting still if that happen in 2006.
